Roberto Collina Men's Knitwear

Roberto Collina

Roberto Collina has been telling its story of knitwear designed and made in Italy for over 60 years. The label was founded in 1953 in Crevalcore, north of Bologna. The family business began with a small knitwear workshop with an adjoining school, managed by the Collina family. Here, innovative machines were used to create the first sweaters for the German and Northern European markets shortly after the Second World War. The small workshop soon became a harmonious centre of Italian knitwear craftsmanship. In the midst of technological innovations and creative twists that led the company to work on commissions for important Italian fashion houses, the young Roberto Collina decided in the early 1980s to give its name to a capsule collection of ten men's sweaters to be presented at the Pitti Uomo trade fair. From that moment on, the success of this brand, combining contemporary artistic ideas with authentic heritage, was consolidated and Roberto Collina transformed into a prêt-à-porter brand focused on quality, beauty and continuous improvement. In 1990, the first women's collection was launched and the brand, until then synonymous with masculine fashion, transferred the poetic style and exceptional quality of Italian production to its feminine essence. The made-in-Italy concept is reflected in a high-end product characterized by the use of high quality materials and precious fibers - mohair, cashmere, alpaca, angora, camel hair, fine merino wool and silk.
